Funky Carolina and The Sweet Sheep team up again for some cross country fiber fun!
This club will run 2 months May and June, but you will receive not 2 but 4 braids of fantastic combed top! Your first shipment will contain one braid of Funky Carolina fiber and one braid of Sweet Sheep fiber…one month…two colourways! The club will be shipped at the later end of May and June.
The Fibers will be the same for each dyer so you will receive 2 of the same fiber, but 2 different colourways, just in case you want to spin them together!
Braids will be shipped together from Texas so there won’t be too many packages to keep track of and the colourways are sure to rock your socks! As this is a cross country club spots will be limited. This is a wicked awesome price for 4 fibers! One month will be a luxury fiber and one month will be a surprise that we haven’t even decided on yet as well as an extra little something in June.

Hey Y’all!

I have been enjoying the beautiful weather in Atlanta (minus the tornado).  There has been a lot of fiber discussion this week which has lead me to spark up the fiber club again! I am really excited to do the club again as I have been expoloring new techniques.

Here is the official description:
The Sweet Sheep fiber Club is back with a new format!
This subscription is for 3 consecutive months of fiber. The fibers will change from month to month so you get a variety of fibers, which makes the club great for beginning spinners too!
Braids will be between  4-5 oz of roving and 2oz on months of luxury fibers.

Fibers will ship by the end of the month. This round runs from April-June.

The cost of the club includes air mail shipping.

Spaces are very limited.

Any lace knitters out there?? Any wanna be lace knitters? I found lace so intimidating when I first started a project and I was thinking of doing a club that will gradually increase in difficulty. It would be a year long bi monthly lace club starting small and growing up in difficulty. Let me know if you are interested. All yarns will be dyed by Myself in shaded or semi solids.

And Speaking of clubs…The Sweet Sheep Sock Club is back…sort of. This fall I will be doing a different type of club. It will be 3 months, by monthly, with 3 skeins of semi solid yarns and 3 not yet to be released patterns designed just for the store. There will be 2 skeins of sock yarn and 1 skein of Merino/ Tencel. 2 of the patterns were designed by Jolene Mosley who is incredibly talented and one of the patterns even won FIRST PRIZE at Maryland Sheep and wool. The Third pattern is designed by Alyson Yo Yo

Ok Yo Yo is really not her last name, but it cracks me up. The Sock Club will ship in September, November, and January. Yarns will be semi solid and dyed by me as well Can you tell I like to dye?

And Last but not least it is the last few days to sign up for the Fiber Club in which Funky Carrie will be dyeing the August instalment she will not dissapoint, and the last few days for the Summer Sale!

We have received a great new shipment of Zen Strings which will be up for tomorrow! mmm…zen strings. I have pulled a few skeins out for myself for some Summer lace. The yarn has a great tight twist.

Fiber Club News!
We have a guest Dyer for the month of August. The talented Carrie of Funky Carolina will be dyeing our august club for us. Sign up by the 15th to get in for August! She is sure to please!

Speaking of Summer lace Anne of Knitspot has sent us a big bunch of incredible lace patterns including the wing o the moth pattern.

Check them out here And what would be better than some CEYEBERFIBER lace...hmmm I can’t think of anything. Mama E sent us some beautiful lace and a really great new line called co-ordinates! I am so excited to announce that we have a guest dyer for the August installment of the Fiber Club.

Funky Carolina will be creating a new colourway just for us! Sign up by July 15th to get into the August Club. Carrie has a fantastic talent for putting together colours and will surely create a stunning roving for us. Here is a little sample of my latest spinning with her roving.

And guess what?? We are having a SUMMER SALE!! All Summer yarns will be on sale starting next week. Patagonia Cotton, Katia Bamboo and CEYEBERFIBER cotton sock will go on sale monday morning. Still in time for Summer knits.  Also coming next week is a big order of Zen Strings to replenish our devistated stock! I have also heard word that our Sea Silk is on it’s way…whoo!

Have you seen Cara’s Wing O the Moth Shawl?  Anne from Knit Spot has sent us a bunch of her incredible patterns including this stunning shawl. I am hoping to have the patterns up this week or early next.

Now that all the business is over HAPPY 4th OF JULY to my US friends. We had such a blast on Canada Day, I hope you all have a great time on Independence Day! Enjoy your time off and knit…it’s patriotic!

This is the first braid in the fiber club dyed by myself. Here’s an extreme closeup!

The Colourway is called Cotton Candy…I figured pinks were in order to launch the club.

This means the next package is from a guest dyer…who will it be? I am allowing 2 spots to sign up and still get in for the March mailing, so check it out!

I have also added 1 spot to the project spectrum semi solid club. There was an uneven number so I bumped it a bit. The first round is all dyed up and should be going out next week, Hope y’all like it!

Malabrigo does not have dye lots so please purchase enough for your project.

Sweet Sheep Sock Club Round 2
Just a reminder that we have 12  7  spots left in the club.

We are just finishing up the first round with an amazing Vesper Self Striping EXCLUSIVE sock yarn. After all members receive their yarns I will post a picture of all of the EXCLUSIVE skeins from the first club on the store blog.

At this time I am not planing on running a third round of the club for a while. We will be doing a few different clubs in the mean time so if you are thinking of joining grab your spot now as it will probably not happen again until 2008 or at the earliest fall of 2007.

New Yarns from Ceyeberfibers! These colourways are limited edition due to the technique they are dyed with.

Mama E has discovered an amazing new process for dyeing that creates a marbling effect in the yarns.

No two skeins are alike, nor can they be reproduced.

Fiber Club update!

The club will be $22 monthly (this includes shipping for Canada and the US)

Hey Girls and Boys!

The Sweet Sheep is starting a fiber club, because we all know that fiber is an essential part of life.

Of course we at the Sweet Sheep have to put a twist on the club!

This club will be a Surprise Guest Club! This means that in randomly chosen months you will receive hand dyed fiber from a Guest dyer. Non guest months will be dyed by The Sweet Sheep herself!

Example Month 1–sweet sheep–month 3-CEYEBER FIBER…ect

You will be able to sign up on a 2 month or 4 month term. Your monthly fee will include one 4 0z bump of hand dyed roving and shipping. The fibers will also change from month to month so you get a variety of fibers too…but that is a surprise as well. You will have to wait to see what comes in the mail.

In the case of silk or other luxury fibers you will receive 2 oz bump and shipping. 

For folks wishing to join the club but not in posession of a spindle, we will have beginner spindles in the store shortly! 

In order to receive the following month’s fiber you must sign up by the 1st of the previous month…example January 1st is the cut off date for the February Club.

The first club will ship in February.  We are still waiting to finalize some of the Guest Dyers so far confirmed is
