I am so excited to be going on the Sea Sock Cruise from LA to Victoria BC. I will be away from the Shop from Saturday April 28th to May 6th.

All of your orders will ship  as normal until the 27th. I will try to ship orders on the 27th as time permits.

Fiber Club, Sweet Sheep Sock Club and the Project Spectrum Sock club will ship before I leave. The Flavour of the Month club will ship May 10th when I return.

Regular Orders will begin shipping on May 7th.

Many pictures will be taken and I will fill you in on all the adventures when I get back. I will be taking classes from Eunny Jang and Mama E on the cruise!

The second round of the Project Spectrum Sock Club is on Sale today and will ship for the first month in June.

In the late dark hours of the night, I have been spinning away. It seems to be my only time to spend with my beloved wheel.

I stole some roving from Pigeon Roof in the Spinning Fiber Section (to be restocked soon) and fell in love with punk. This fiber wanted so badly to be sock yarn, I barely even had to be there to make this happen and so I give you my first skein of handspun sock yarn.

I am so happy with this yarn, so happy in fact that I have started spinning up some Funky Carolina which should be in the shop next week.

I am actually spinning this up to knit a blanket…I know…I may be crazy…we will find out!

My love for spinning has be reborn and I have ordered some spindles from Louet as well as some beginner spindle kits for those of you out there that want to make some yarn of your own!

Hi Ladies a few notes for tomorrow’s updates

1. When items are in your cart they are NOT safe until you choose a method of payment. Other customers can buy them until you pick your method of payment.

2. My merchant company does NOT allow 2 purchases on the same Credit card in a 24 hour period…if you used your cc tonight you either have to use another card or pay pal.  I am working on having this fixed.

3. Please understand that while I wish you could all get the yarn that you are looking for…it really isn’t my fault if yarns dissapear from your cart while you are shopping.  Unfortunatly, this is the nature of the rush.

Ok Ladies, I have got my riot gear on…armed with pepper spray. This update has gotten way bigger than I expected and am crossing my fingers that the site does not crash. I have a pretty well built site…but as we know knitters are a formidible force.

Twinkle toes and Sweet Socks are up! I love these twinkle toes…they are on the list….sigh…the list is long.

In the midst of all this excitement I have finished the first jitterbug sock and cast on the second.

Here is the first one.

Yes they are small…I have smaller feet and really like my socks tight….less slippery and more like a nice wooly hug.

Now..a note on the bag in the background. We have these fantastic Booty Bags coming into the store. They will be a bit different as they will have a pocket for our needles.

Hopefully in May when I get back from my trip they will be here for us. These bags are totally reversable…pocket and everything.

As you can see from the picture it is a bit dirty…I have had it for 6 months and am taking it on the cruise with me so I thought I should wash it…as it has some suede in it I am washing it in my Soak…I thought it was a good test of the Soak to see how well it cleans.

Right now it is soaking…I will show you pictures of the results when I am done.

Several of you have asked about the Twinkle Toes that I mentioned in the last newsletter and were wondering exactly what they were.

Holy crap!  I went to the front porch to check for packages…I do this about 7-10 times a day…a little bit obsessive, but I like to get packages and lo and behold a box with SweetGeorgia label in sitting on my porch…just sitting there.

I immedately looked around for yarn snatchers and brought the box inside…I thought to myself….what kind of manic leaves a HUGE box of SweetGeorgia unattended in broad daylight!!

Anyone could have grabbed her….this guy is insane….just insane!

In the month of May we will be having an unofficial KAL of Cookie A’s Monkey pattern over at the March Sweater madness or April UFO blog.

We would love to have you join us. We will start our Monkies on May 1st and all aim to have them done by the end of the month. Also, If you would like to join but want to knit a different pattern we would love to have you too. It is all about love over at the blog.

Also memberships for the second round of the Project Spectrum Semi Solid Club will go on sale Next Monday with the update.  The first month to ship will be June, but I wanted to give everyone plenty of notice as I will be gone the end of April and beginning of May….

Yes, today is the day you can have some of your very own pirate booty, but not until 7pm my friends. There is certainly a lot of excitement…rest asured I have more orders to come in May sometime.

Whew…is everyone ready for Pirate Mania?

Today, in good daylight I got a look at these little pirates! They are so pretty! Want to see them all?

I lined them up to walk the plank!

Arn’t they so pretty? I love the pirate logo!

As I mentioned before, they will go up in the shop at 7pm on Friday and that is EST.  We do have more pirates coming in May, go grab what you need until then.

We also had these pretty silkies port at the same time as the pirates.

The first two rows on the left are the Sea Silk lace in the 150gr skeins. Some of you many not have heard about this so I will explain. For a limited time Handmaiden has 150gr skeins and these are the colours I have purchased. There will be a bit more coming in a month or so, but as far as I know it will not be a regular item. I will let you know if that changes or I hear anything else. The skeins will go for $50 Canadian which is a great price for the yardage. One skein will certainly make a shawl.

On the right hand side is the new order of Great Big Sea Silk in worsted weight. There are 2 new Handmaiden colours, Popsicle and Blackberry.

All of this yarn will go up sometime on Thursday and the Yarn Pirate will again go up at 7pm EST on Friday.

On to the Jitterbug! Here is the progress after this weekend.

Not bad considering that I spent most of my weekend with my hands in the dye pots! I love how this fabric is working up. I am knitting it tightly on size 1 needles and it is going to be a dream to wear!

There may still be a Monday update. I am expecting 2 new Canadian hand dyers yarns. One of them is an ALPACA sock yarn…mmmmmm.

The Yarn Pirate Has landed! I am thrilled, the yarns are beautiful and no I will not be horrible and wait until Monday to put them up.

Yarn Pirate will go up Friday Night at 7pm.

I will also be updating with our magnificent Great Big Sea Silk and the Sea Silk in 150 gr skeins on friday. These skeins are really something else.

I promise an actual post tomorrow with pictures of my Jitterbug Progress…I just wanted to let you all schedule your yarn pirating!!
