Onto the finished product

Quite some time ago I was talking about how I make my handspun shawls, well I finished all of the spinning some time ago

shawlyarns.jpg

The spinning was a lot of fun as usual.

So it is time to start working on the pattern. I have chosen this pattern (rav) link and have been enjoying watching it unfold.

As for the colour changes…I have been trying to let them happen on their own…I have trouble not planning out every second so letting it happen on it’s own is a bit of a stretch, but so far I am happy with it’s progress.

I have 3 more skeins to go and a few half skeins…I can’t wait to wear this shawl…it is just perfect for fall!

Some Finished Knitting

There has been much knitting going on here and even some finishing!

shawl.jpg This is my Hyacinth shawl by Evelyn Clark and using one skein of my Sweet Super Skeins. They are totally out of stock right now but will be updated early next week.

This was a really fun knit and is even more fun to wear!

And speaking of fun to wear I have a handspun shrug! I adore everything about handspun, I love the process of spinning my own yarn and knitting with it is another wonderful experience. Just knowing that I took the fiber and created something that I can wear and enjoy is worth every second of the work that went into it.

shrug.jpg

The pattern is a modified version of Shrug This.

The roving was 2 braids of Funky Carolina spun together for 8 wonderful ounces.

So, that’s it for FO’s, but I am currently working on my handspun shawl and will have pictures soon!!

In shop news I will be updating with lovesticks self striping tonight and our last order of sKNITches self striping!

Sorry about the blog absense! I am back with a run down of the run for the cure prizes.

This is a photo heavy post.

I am so proud to present these beautiful yarns and prizes donated by:dsc_0031.jpg

Shelridge Farms worsted weight yarns.

dsc_0032.jpg

And sock yarns! Buffy and Don have been so generous every year we have done the Run. In fact many of our sponsors have given each year including

dsc_0033.jpg

Jessie at Yarntini who has donated 3 skeins of her “hope” colourway in sport weight!

dsc_0035.jpg

We also have these stunning yarns from Dyed in the Wool Handmade!

dsc_0036.jpg

400g of beautiful Hip Knits Silk!

dsc_0037.jpg

Beautiful Sock yarns from Oceanwind Knits!

dsc_0038.jpg

I am also donating some of my favorite mill ends from Louet!

dsc_0039.jpg

Ravelry was kind enough to donate a fantastic Rav Tote and some really cool buttons!

dsc_0041.jpg

This year we have something a little different and certainly wonderful. Loriola is one of my favorite glass artists and since this is a run to support breast cancer research she was kind enough to donate some ethnic boobie earings! I love them, they are just so wonderful.

dsc_0044.jpg

I am also donating my wonderful Clapotis! We also have 2 beautiful pink skeins of SUNDARA silk/merino sock yarn in her Blossom colourway.

Thank you so very much to everyone who has donated a prize, I am so appreciative!

And thank you also to everyone who has donated to the run. We are almost half way to my goal!

Next week I will post the prizes all broken up into groups and we will start drawing shortly.

If you would like to donate to the run and join the raffle you can do so HERE. Each $10 donated will enter your name once.

Thank you all SO MUCH for your support.

Also, if you are in the area and would like to join the team I would LOVE to have you. We are TEAM PINK…of course :)
